In order to enable companies to use data sovereignly and jointly across the entire manufacturing and supply chain, an open environment for data exchange is required. This is based on uniform rules: Manufacturing-X aims to create a digitally networked industry. The “X” stands for “Exchange” and symbolizes the exchange of data and collaboration in complex value creation networks across different industries.
Work on Manufacturing-X, which is funded by the federal government, is still in its early stages. Under the umbrella of the Industry 4.0 platform, large corporations, medium-sized companies and associations are developing a concept for digitizing supply chains in industry. Phoenix Contact, as part of the consortium, is actively involved in the development of Manufacturing-X and is already offering technological solutions that enable uniform communication between systems across industry and national borders. This ensures that energy and data flow unhindered in the spirit of Manufacturing-X, while companies retain control and interfaces over their sensitive and valuable data.
We support you in making it easier for your customers to access networked services and business models in accordance with Gaia-/Manufacturing-X
